The Behind the Scenes Tour will give you privileged access to the working areas usually closed to the public where you can discover how we care for over 600 marine and fresh-water species and see how the fish food is prepared!

EXPLORER? COME THIS WAY! Dive in and explore an underwater world of glittering scales, waddling feet and razor-sharp teeth at the UK’s flagship SEA LIFE aquarium located on London’s popular Southbank.

Get ready to be amazed as you come face-to-fin with over 7,000 fin-tastic marine creatures. Brave the depths of the Pacific before trekking through the Amazon Rainforest. Glide alongside our Sea turtles waddle with our Gentoo penguins and discover our brand new Polar Adventure. 

Talks and activities as well as regular feeds take place throughout the day for the Octopus’s, Rays, Penguins, Sharks and Rainforest creatures.

Access Information

Disabled guest should purchase a standard ticket and will qualify for one complimentary helper ticket. The free ticket for the helper should be requested on arrival at the attraction upon presentation of proof of disability.  

The attraction is fully wheelchair accessible. SEA LIFE London can admit up to 10 wheelchair users in the attraction at any one time. You do not need to reserve a wheelchair slot for your visit to SEA LIFE London, places are allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Unfortunately we are unable to admit mobility scooters into the attraction.

Duration

On average it will take you 1.5 to 2 hours to enjoy the full experience of SEA LIFE London. However this depends completely on you and how long you would like to enjoy our underwater world

Good To Know

Infants aged 3 years and under are free, but must still reserve a ticket

Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult, aged 18 years or over. 

Talks and activities as well as regular feeds take place throughout the day for the Octopus’s, Rays, Penguins, Sharks and Rainforest creatures. Check the daily timetable on arrival at the attraction.

How Does It Work

Please present your e-ticket to a member of staff (either printed or on a mobile device) and you will be scanned in before the start of your tour.

Go to the VIP Experience entrance (look out for the picture of the Seahorse) 30 minutes prior to your booked timeslot and present your e-ticket

Meet the Aquarist at the behind the scene meeting point near the Ray Pool at your confirmed timeslot.

What Should I Expect

SEA LIFE London is an aquarium that holds one of Europe’s biggest collections of global marine life! It is home to over 7000 sea creatures including Green Sea Turtles, sharks and Gentoo Penguins. 

Feeds happen throughout the day for the Octopus’s, Rays, Penguins, Sharks and Rainforest creatures with daily talks and activities. 

Here at SEA LIFE we care deeply about our oceans, the creatures that live above and beneath the surface and those we are lucky enough to have in our care.

Under our ethos BREED, RESCUE, PROTECT we have established breeding programs to better understand species, from Undulate Rays to Coral Propagation.

Where Do I Go

SEA LIFE London is located within easy walking distance from several London Underground stations: Waterloo, Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster. 

Waterloo is the closest tube station to SEA LIFE London.  Waterloo is about five minutes walking distance. Exit the station following signs for the South Bank. 

Embankment and Charing Cross stations are close together on the north side of the River Thames. Both tube stations are a ten-fifteen minute walk to reach SEA LIFE London. From the station, cross over Hungerford Bridge. 

Westminster tube station is the closest station to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. From Westminster tube station, take exit one and follow signs for Westminster pier.
